In Judges 7:5 , God unfolds a plan of selecting three hundred men for Gideon to lead into a victorious battle against the Midianites. The contents of "A Chosen Life" reflects that order and provides a review of his plan for us.

These contents reflect, mainly God's word for our lives which give us a joy that leads us into prayer, obedience, music, endorsements, thereby exposing our talents such as poems, and any talent presented to us as gift from God that we can use to proclaim his name.

Table of Contents:

Chapter One…………… Cedar Valley Community Church
Your life in Christ is embodied in him and is a part of your church life. Cedar Valley Community Church emulates for me the word of God. It is not only a community church, but one that has a world-wide vision. Rooted and built up in him, steadfast in the faith that only Jesus can provide. Not just loving one another but really loving one another in and for him. This is my church.

Chapter Two………………………… Choose Life And Walk With Jesus
Choosing Life is an individual choice, but many make this choice without understanding the the depth of it. Even the devil believes, but trembles. When you choose life, real life in Christ that is, you are choosing an eternity with him. This life begins the day you accept him. To be chosen and put aside, separated from the world and resting in the victory only Jesus can provide. For to Jesus, this choice cost him his life and not choosing this life is death.

Chapter Three……………………… Our Awesome God
Understanding who he is and what he did for those who “Choose Life” No one ever walks alone with Jesus. Even when walking in the valley of death, he is with us. He gives us strength and joy because he is always near us. Jesus knows our longings for Him and is always there to answer us when we call for him in our lives. All we need to open up our hearts to him.

Chapter Four…………………………There is Hope In The Messiah
Paul affirms the humanity and divinity of Christ. By so doing he reveals the heart of the good news, “The great mystery of our faith” (the secret of how we become godly). “Appeared in the flesh” Jesus was a man, Jesus’ incarnation is the basis of our being right with God. “Was shown to be righteous by the Spirit.” Jesus’ resurrection showed that the Holy Spirit’s power was in Him (Romans 8:11). “Was seen by angels” and “was taken up into heaven” Jesus is divine. We can’t please God on our own; we must depend on Christ. (NIV commentary on 1 Timothy 3:14-16)

Chapter Five………………………… The Trinity
Christ is the head of the church, which is his body. He is the first of all who will rise from the dead, so he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross. (Colossians 1:15-20)

Chapter Six………………………… How Have We Been Crucified
Legally, God looks at us as if we had died with Christ. Because our sins died with him, we are no longer condemned (Colossians 2:13-15 ) Relationally, we have become one with Christ, and his experiences are ours. Our Christian life began when, in unity with him, we died to our old life (see Romans 6: 5-11 ). In our daily life, we must regularly crucify sinful desires that keep us from following Christ. This, too, is a kind of dying with him (Luke 9:23-25 ). And yet the focus of Christianity is not dying but living. Because we have been crucified with Christ, we have also been raised with him (Romans 6:5 ) Legally, we have been reconciled with God (2 Corinthians 5:19 ) and are free to grow into Christ’s likeness (Romans 8:29. ) And in our daily life we have Christ’s resurrection power as we continue to fight sin. (Ephesians 1: 19-20 ). We are no longer alone, Christ lives in us—he is our power for living and our hope for the future (Colossians 1:27 )

Chapter Seven…………………………Life In The Spirit
There are two important questions that can save you. The first is, if you would die today, are you sure that you would go to Heaven? In a hypothetical setting the second question is: If you stood before Christ today and He asked you, “Why should I let you into my Heaven?”, what would you say? It won’t happen that way, but what if it did? The answer to these question is as follows, all churches and religions have one thing in common, they cannot save you! Salvation is a gift that only Jesus can give you in a personal relationship with Him. (See John 17:3 and John 3:3.) You must be born again!

Chapter Eight…………………What Happened To The Good News
When the shepherds herd about the birth of Christ they left their flocks, drawn by angels to Bethlehem, and then they returned glorifying God. From there the Good News spread around the world and through the centuries. Why do we hesitate to share the Good News like the shepherds did back then? In other words, why do we fail to fulfill the Great Commission by not spreading the word today? When people still need to know that Jesus died for them?

Chapter Nine………………………… This Life In The Spirit
God’s laws are meant to make us stronger and help us keep the covenant that we have with him. Psalms 119: 92-93 mentions that if his law had not been our delight, we would have perished. But how can man keep his way pure? By living according to his word and seeking him with all our heart so that we may not stray from his commands.(Psalm 119:9-11)

Chapter Ten…………………………..Warning To The Shepherds
God wants his shepherds (pastors, leaders, etc) to care for his sheep as he would. Preach the undefiled word of God. In it’s mercy and truth. The good news is nothing if it does not include his blood, which is required because of our sins.

Chapter Eleven………………………..When I was Just A Boy
When we are young, we are less appreciative of the things that He has done for us. We are also so easily deceived and torn between serving Him and the world. Jesus wants us to live a pure spiritual life, one free from sexual sin and all other passions of this world. When we commit to worldly things we are not only being unholy but rejecting him.

Chapter Twelve………………………..A Call To Christ
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20) Strength from the Word: No matter what we face in life,we can draw on God’s Word for our strength.

Chapter Thirteen………………………The Vine
Because Jesus is Lord and Master, he should call us servants; instead, he calls us friends. How comforting and reassuring to be chosen as Christ's friends. Because he is Lord and Master, we owe him our unqualified obedience, but most of all, Jesus asks us to obey him because we love him. Jesus made his first choice to love and die for us, to invite us to live with him forever. We make the next choice to accept or reject his offer. Without his choice we would have no choice to make. (John 15:15 , 16)

Chapter Fourteen………………………Jesus…The King Of Our Family
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me! (Psalm 139:15-18) "I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. (John 5:24)
